Katie is a pioneer in using found plastics and repurposing them in most ingenious ways, prolonging their life and giving them a second chance. There is a charm and a playful component to all her pieces. A ray of sunshine on any day!

‘In my work I combine colourful mid-century and used contemporary plastics to examine how everyday materials can provide a space for self-expression. I create playful forms with highly saturated colors to elevate common objects that have outlived their original functions, but not their aesthetic potential. The recognisable objects in my work evoke memories linked with materials and color. Through the shared memories embedded in used objects, I can understand the ways in which I navigate intimate and social human connections.’
